As with all Adhesion Promoters, DTM is best applied in one, very thin, pass, normally 1 ounce per 10 square feet. DTM is sold in sets containing 1 part of DTM "A" and 1 part of DTM "B". Mix at a rate of 1:1. Once mixed DTM has usable pot life of one hour.

DTM is normally dry to the touch in one hour. It must be dry to apply the 8001. DTM is best applied using an HPLV gun. Clean up with mineral spirits or lacquer thinner. Discard unused, mixed DTM Adhesion Promoter.

The DTM primed surface must be topped with 8001 and the Scorpion coating applied within 24 hours of the initial DTM application for best results.

Do not apply Scorpion XO2 directly to the DTM Primer. It is intended to act as a bonding agent between 8001 and the bare metal.

Description

Scorpion DTM Etching Primer creates a bonding surface on bare, hardnened steel applications.

When working with bare hardened steel, 8001 alone cannot create a great bond. For the best bond we need something that will "bite" into the metal and provide a surface that 8001 can adhere to. DTM solves this problem. It is a strong etching primer rated for hardened steel. DTM is a two part etching primer consisting of part A, and part B. For aluminum and other metals, use an appropriate etching primer rated for that specific metal.
